It got down to 28 degrees last night. When I was trying to eat my breakfast this morning at the computer, I could see my breath.

I was running late as it was, and I get out to my car and it is crusted with ice. And I don't have an ice scraper. So I had to wait about 6 minutes for the defroster to get going enough to melt the ice on my windshield.

I know some of you tougher/insane/stupid people live where it snows, but this is too much cold for me.

Spent 15 minutes scraping mine this morning. Was that awful kind of speckled hard-as-nails crystals that look a bit like down feathers frozen to your windows.

I hate this time of year.

(if you didn't know, in a pinch, a credit card or similar that you don't care much about makes a substitute ice scraper.)

I didn't even think about a credit card. I have a Trader Joe's gift card with $1.02 balance on it that I could have used.

I used to use a safeway card since it's magnetic strip never gets used any way. They just scan the bar code.

Yes, I know about your lust for Stephanie. ;)

Too bad she'd be more likely to make out with her dogs than a guy, LOL.

"Tuesday: Winter storm conditions... Snow mixes with sleet and rain later today... strengthening east to southeast winds. 3 to 7 inches in the city... 7 to 12 inches in north sections.

"Wednesday: Snow and blowing snow with winds over 40 mph... temperatures falling into the teens later in the afternoon with accompanying single-digit wind chills."

Yeah, we're looking at big time fun tomorrow as well. Time to ban Mrs. Gein the Osteoporous from the sidewalks.

But isn't the death of that current caused by Global Warming? From all of the water from the melting ice caps in Greenland?

That's the "butterfly effect" on a macro scale.

It's sadly both simple and hypercomplex. The facts are of two categories. Fossil evidence and man recorded. Even the fossils are arguably subject to dubious interpetration which traditonally was addressed by wide scale peer review. Independent peers with honesty kept by double blinded sample pedigrees etc. Same with human recorded data. Ben Franklin's correspondances had the ability to see letters from adjacent areas and compare for anomalies that were "frozen" on inked paper. And published in the almanac history.

So? one vat of koolaide is tagged we're gonna roast unless we "DO BIG THINGS" One's tagged we're gonna roast and nothing's going to change that. Then we've a few smaller koolers- one branded we're gonna freeze and it's independent of man. Another saying the same except because of man's actions the freeze is going to dwarf the Fimbulwinter of myth. And then, there's the group most attractive to me.

A group saying calmly but with a tone of time awareness- "we better find out what the reality is and act according to that" The tragic fact overlooked? It's that we're betting our species entire upon who's right. And that last one could potentially be settled or not merely by applying the propaganda budgets of ALL viewpoints for a few months. That snow on your windows is exhibit A that our modelling is clearly needing some sanity checking.

You're right. But it's only that cold a few days of the year, so I don't own any winter clothes. It's easier to be cold when you only own California clothes, and I can't justify the expense of buying winter clothes for only a few days peryear.

We haven't gotten that kind of cold yet here in NJ.
