Spider caught a big fly!
Mar. 2nd, 2010 04:18 pmMy boss called me into his office to show me that his window spider (he's been there for almost a year!) caught a big fly and was busy sucking it dry. I, of course, had to take a picture!

Beautiful blossoms in the rain
Jan. 26th, 2010 03:38 pmThis is the parking lot outside my office. I need to put batteries in my good camera and take better pictures tomorrow. The tree is covered with these white blossoms.

In other news, someone bought me Bill Clinton's autobiography My Life for Christmas, and I sarted reading it this morning. It's really good. I'm really enjoying it, and the best part is that as I read it, I can hear him in my head speaking everything in his luscious voice and it makes me even happier. I love Bill.

It's pretty cold outside and when it rained this morning for about an hour, it left snow on the hilltops. This is my office view, and I like the juxtaposition of the green hills with the snowy hills above it. Sorry my phone camera is shitty.

And the bosses bought us all pizza today for lunch. It was tasty.

Hawk and carnage...
Jan. 8th, 2010 11:30 amThere is a pair of what Travis and I think are Sharp Shinned Hawks that screech and fly around our office building. Travis and I are big bird watchers so we love watching them. This morning one was in the tree across the street (right in the view of our office windows) pulling some creature apart piece by piece. So first Travis went out to look (I thought I got a great picture of him looking up at the tree [I took it from my office window] but my hand was shaking and it was really blurry) then I went out to look and take pictures. Here's the hawk and the carcass (it's very hard to see - I tried to 'shop it to make the hawk and the bloody mess of what we think is a pigeon more visible) and then two pictures of the mess below. Some poor shmuck in a Honda parked on the street has pigeon guts, blood, bones, feathers and hawk shit all over his car. Check it out.

Enjoy!

It's the annual Fiesta here in Santa Barbara, and one of the bosses here gave everyone $10 to go there and buy lunch to stimulate the economy. I'm on phone duty today so my co-worker took my $10 and bought me food and brought it back from one of the food stands.
Mmmm....tacos.

ETA: Holy SHIT the sauce on these tacos is hot.

Outside my office today...
Jul. 31st, 2009 08:09 pmI was walking from my car to the office this morning and found this.

I thought it was quite sad.

Oh wow the foulness!
Aug. 6th, 2007 07:39 pmSo I have this job interview on Wednesday morning in Santa Barbara. Since part of this job is sales, I want to look good. So I went and bought some lipstick (don't laugh) and I thought the pores in my nose and on my chin looked a bit clogged. So, for the first time in my life, I bought a combo pack of those Biore strips - some for the face and some for the nose. 15 minutes ago I slapped them on my face, and just removed them.
OH MY GOD! I pulled the most foul yet intriguing oil "worms" out of my nose! There were hundreds of them! It was wonderful! I was full of rapture! I want to do this every day!
So, I'm happy. And my skin looks much better now.
