It's quite tall (maybe 16') and the wood is like iron. It is in the agave family so maybe I could drink it and get drunk, but I'm not trying. That tree is covered in raccoon shit.

Is slime mold like fresh wet foam? It was definitely foam, like soap suds. Not solid at all.

It can be, or it could be the spittle of some insect, encasing its eggs in the spittle, which will dry up and become a hard protective cover until the eggs hatch.
