As a jazz fan, I have to say that there are two great clubs in LA - The Jazz Bakery and the Baked Potato, both small jazz venues with great sound. I much prefer an intimate setting. For other kinds of concerts, the Wiltern theater in LA is fabulous. I've seen Natalie Merchant, Peter Murphy, kd lang, Paul Simon, Ian Anderson, Brian Wilson and even George Carlin there.
