I always knew Snape was a good guy. I figured as much when it came out a couple of years ago that when they started the first movie, Jo took Alan Rickman aside and made him one of the few people who actually knew more than the general public because she wanted him to portray Snape in a certain way.

I also read 3 weeks ago that when they were making the movie for OOTP, that Kreacher (as the house elves keep getting the shaft, much like in the wizarding world) was to be cut out of OOTP the movie and Jo made them put Kreacher back in, so I knew that he had a lot to do in book 7. I liked his redemption as well.
