VP via Text Message...
Aug. 14th, 2008 04:40 pmA few days ago I received an e-mail from the Obama campaign to text them at 622-62 with the letters VP and then the first people to know who Obama is picking as his VP running mate will be the people on the text message list. We will apparently get it before the media.
I think that's really cool. Can you imagine this instantaneous broadcast all over the world with text messages from Obama? There is something eerie and exhilarating all at once. I can't wait.
Just now my phone buzzed and it was a message from 622-62 (my heart skipped a beat for a second) but it was just them asking for my zip code so they could text me when Obama was in my area. But it was really cool.
I am really enjoying Obama's embrace of technology (makes sense since the man is never walking without looking down at his CrackBerry), as it really shows that he is of a different generation, and so far removed from "I don't even know how to turn this darned thing on" McCain. I love it.
