Now I've heard everything...

On CNN's "This Week At War" just now, a talking head referred to the Iraq war as "The Whack-A-Mole Effect". I mean, it is an apt description - every time we secure one city the violence pops back up in another city and by the time that violence is quelled, it's back up again in the first city. But the weirdness of that metaphor just has me shaking my head.

Amusing Walk Around Town...

I know - I can't stop posting today.

So I just went on a 1.5 mile walk (28 minutes - good for me!) that completely kicked my ass (I seriously need to not let 3 weeks go between a long walk again), but on the way there was some amusement.

1) I'm walking along, and all of a sudden this big-assed red redneck truck comes screeching around the corner at full speed, and then squeals the tires as he barrels down the street, with a big redneck guy behind the wheel. Now, you would expect Black Sabbath, even Lynard Skynard (play Freebird!) to be blaring out of his speakers. No, it was...(wait for it)...Borderline by Madonna. Seriously folks, I about died laughing.
