Today's wine...

Santa Barbara Winery 2004 Pinot Noir

Excellent.

And to be totally uncouth, I'm making baked chicken with rice. I know, I know, mixing poultry with red is trashy, but I don't have any white. Fuck it.

I can't wait to move to the Central Coast. I'm going to make a point to go to every winery within 100 miles. That will be a lot of fun.

*starts saving money to come and join you for a wine jaunt*. Hey! It could be just like in Sideways!

Yes, but I won't fuck a waitress from AJ Spur's in the ass. I'm just saying.

Dammit. I guess I won't need to pack the video camera.

You just haven't had enough to drink yet, dear.

"mixing poultry with red is trashy"

That is absolute nonsense, Aemilia. Roast a chicken with onion and sage stuffing and serve it with Chardonnay? Of course not! A Chianti or a nice big Burgundy. It's like saying you have to serve Austrian Gruner Veltliner everytime a newborn is being served-- the far more important issue is how are you cooking the little bastard!

True, true, if it was very savory, a red would be socially acceptable. But this was pretty mild. But, the Pinot tasted fine with it. But I got too drunk. Thankfully I have sobered up.

I would think newborn would taste good with a nice Riesling. A sweet white.
