Smoke on the water....

I was driving home and about 7 miles up ahead on the curve I see smoke. I hope it isn't the beginnings of a wildfire.

Then the traffic stops:





As I get closer I realize the divider is on fire.



And here I am driving through the smoke!




I hope they get it under control and out quickly.

That semi you can see up at the front in the first picture had its engine open - I have a feeling something exploded in the semi's engine and it might have started the fire.

Or, yes, it could be an engine fire.

Around about Beaumont/Banning on the 10 yesterday afternoon, there was a rig on the left shoulder with the upper right front corner of its trailer peeled back about 20 feet. I had to wonder how in the hell that happened.
